SKILLS USA STUDENTS COMPETE

LCHS SkillsUSA students competed in the State championships the past couple weeks culminating April 27 with the Awards ceremony. Students competed in Welding, Precision Machining, Cabinetmaking, Carpentry, Auto Servicing, and Electronics. They competed very well with the written, leadership, safety, and the different disciplines engaged in their competitions. The teachers and students came away from the competitions with a positive attitude concerning their individual efforts. The following are the medalists with the 1st place finisher qualifying for Nationals June 23-27:

1) Technical Spelling- Joshua Mathes received 2nd.
2) Residential Electronic Systems and Maintenance- Joshua Mathes placed 1st and Jordan Thompson placing 2nd.
3) Mechatronics- The team of Michael Banowetz and Shelby Schafer placed 1st.
4) Electronics Technology- Drew Baum placed 1st, Justin Mahan 2nd, and Joel Russell 3rd.
